How We Made Nutriish Visible to AI Search Engines

Nutriish partnered with AI Audit Scan to measure and improve its AI search visibility. Here is what we changed, what we learned, and what the numbers showed.

At Nutriish, we spend a lot of time thinking about what our members need. But recently, we started asking a different question: can people even find us when they ask ChatGPT or Gemini for nutrition advice?

The answer, it turns out, was complicated.

We partnered with AI Audit Scan, an AI visibility tool that measures how well websites are understood and cited by AI search engines like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity. We volunteered to be their first beta site partly out of curiosity, partly because we wanted to understand this new world of AI search before our competitors did.

What the audit revealed

Our starting score was 36 out of 100. Not terrible, but not good either. The audit identified three critical gaps.

First, we had almost no structured data. AI engines rely on JSON-LD schema to understand what a website is, who it serves, and what it offers. Without it, they simply skip you. Second, our content was too thin under 50 words on the homepage, which is not enough for an AI to extract a meaningful answer about who we are. Third, we had no signals telling AI engines that Nutriish is a real, trustworthy brand.

What we changed

Over two weeks, we made a series of targeted improvements. We added JSON-LD structured data across all pages Organization, Service, FAQPage, and Product schema for our three plans. We expanded our homepage content to give AI engines enough context to describe Nutriish accurately. We added a robots.txt, a sitemap, and an About page with clear expertise signals.

What the numbers showed

After the changes, our score moved from 36 to 59 out of 100. The Structured Data pillar alone jumped from 0 to 14 out of 20 in a single day. When we ran the AI Citation Tracking tool, Gemini cited Nutriish on 3 out of 5 test queries with a 60% citation rate, ahead of much larger platforms on brand-specific searches.

We also discovered something unexpected. Gemini was citing us but describing Nutriish as a meal delivery service confusing us with a US brand. One small change to our schema description will correct that in the next crawl cycle.

What this means for small businesses

You do not need to be a tech company to be visible to AI. You need clear, structured information on your website that tells AI engines exactly who you are, what you do, and who you serve. That is it.

If you want to see how AI currently sees your website, AI Audit Scan offers a free scan with results in 30 seconds.
